Homecoming 2007 is right around the corner (October 6) and you may be debating weather or not to go. I know that life is full of obstacles and October seems light-years away from today, but I want to encourage you to come back to Platteville to meet a great bunch of guys. I am sure you will recognize the house, the composites and I am sure you will recognize some of the other Alumni, but I am willing to bet you will not recognize your undergraduate fraternity.
.
After looking at what today’s Tekes do, and reading their meeting minutes, I see this group of guys as our next evolution. This new breed of frater is focusing more on brotherhood and our community more than any group I have seen during my 14 years as an active part of TKE. Back when I pledged the house knew how to throw a mean party and have a great time, but as a group that’s what we did well. This new group is diverse doing many things for many people; they get involved in their environment. Their environment is the Platteville community, not just the basement of the TKE house. This change was not made overnight, as the years go by the “Best Practices” are retained and new ideas are born. The TKE once a year volunteering for Special Olympics or the Teeter-Totter-A-Thon is a thing of the past, today they volunteer almost weekly for events. Since December here is just a SAMPLE of what they have been doing (from their reports from the Undergrad meeting minutes):

As you can see there is a LOT being done at the MuNu Chapter, and there is a LOT of money being donated to other organizations. Please take the time to get to know and support these guys, Homecoming is the perfect opportunity. As MuNu Alumni we need to promote these ideals and assist them in any way we can whether it is through donation of time or money. GET INVOLVED, our support today will help a lot more than just the MuNu chapter. Our examples today will encourage their involvement tomorrow!
