. Alumni Dues, What are they? . Alumni dues are monies solicited by the MuNu Alumni Association to help fund activities for both the Undergraduate Chapter and MuNu Alumni Association. Is payment of annual dues a requirement to be apart of the Alumni Association? No. Dues are voluntary and non-payment shall have no effect on standard membership status in the Alumni Association. To become a VOTING member of the AA, alumni must have AA dues paid for the current fiscal year. Any previous payment or non payment of dues do not apply to your current voting rights. If dues aren’t required, then why pay? Dues are important for two reasons. First, they fund the alumni association to help pay for alumni and undergraduate activities. Secondly, in the Alumni Association you must have your dues paid for the current year to vote for or hold any alumni office or committee chair. What sorts of activities do my dues help pay for? There are a variety of activities that the dues help pay for, such as: Sending Undergrad Reps to the Annual Regional Leadership Conference Sending Representatives to Conclave Home Improvement Projects Alumni work weekend Summer Reunion Chapter Rush Event Sponsorship Events like Homecoming and Founder’s Day Alumni Retreats Alumni Communication, like Newsletters and the Alumni Association Website Alumni Association Service Awards Misc Chapter Financial support
The more Alumni that pay dues, the more we can do finically for the Mu-Nu chapter and Alumni Association as a whole. How much are Alumni dues? Dues are pro-ratted by how long you have been out of school, the first couple years after graduation can be tough.· - 0-1 year out of School = $10/year
- 1-2 years out of School = $20/year
- 3+ years out of school = $30/year
How often do I pay my dues? Dues are set up to be paid annually, the Mu Nu AA fiscal year starts on October 1st. This means if you paid your dues after October 1st, say last year at homecoming, you would be paid up until October 1, 2008. I have a few years records online you can verify your payments.
What if I owe past dues? Past dues payments like Donations are always welcome, but not something we ask for, or will hold you to. This is not like a phone bill where it MUST be paid or you fall behind; Alumni Dues are strictly “At Will”. If you wish to pay past dues you can submit payment as if you were paying your current dues. Where can I pay my dues? Dues can be paid in two ways; - Right here on our new alumni webpage, make an online payment by clicking on the small button on the right hand side of any page that says “PayPal - Donate”. PayPal is one of the most respected online payment systems available where all payments are made via a dedicated, secure, PayPal server. Once you click on the PayPal button you will be taken to their site where you will be able to make your payment either through your personal PayPal account or by Credit/Debit card as a one time transaction. The MuNu AA will never see your account/card number information..When are Alumni Association Meetings held? Alumni Association meetings are held four (4) times a year usually at Founders Day, Red Carnation Ball, Summer Reunion, and Homecoming. The Alumni Association President may also call for a retreat or special meeting during the year with officers and committee members to discuss alumni improvement and budget issues. How did I become a member of the Alumni Association? There are four ways you can become a member of the Alumni Association of the Mu-Nu Chapter. Upon leaving the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, membership in the association shall be extended to: - All initiated members of the Mu-Nu-Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon
- All initiated members of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity who transfer to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and become an active member of the Mu-Nu Chapter
- All members of the Phi Delta Chi local fraternity
- All initiated members of the Order of Diana and former Mu-Nu Sweethearts
